Publicly Traded Avon Endures More Uncertainty

On Thursday, the privately held perfume company Coty increased its bid for Avon from $23.25 to $24.75 per share. Bogged down by recent struggles, the 125 year old Avon has resisted the takeover attempt. It now appears even Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett’s company, may be involved in the offer as well.
